Engagement Party

We had an engagement party Dec. 15, 2007 at our house here in Shelbyville. We made all necessary preparations, paint two rooms, buy artwork for the walls, clean from ceiling to floor, and even give Remy (our black lab) a good bathing. We invited family to come over in the early afternoon, and we feasted on pork roast and meatloaf, along with all the trimmings. Craig even made stuffed mushrooms. We had a good time; however, weather did not cooperate for us and everyone (except Craig's cousin Wade and his wife Tricia) peaced out super early so they would not get stuck on the snowy roads. It's my luck to have blizzard conditions on our big day. Wade, Tricia, Craig, and I visited and relaxed for about two hours and then the rest of the gang showed up. A few of our friends would not let blistering winds and blinding snow keep them from having a few (too many) drinks with us to celebrate. We played jenga, cards, and even had a visit from santa Dude (see pictures). Even Remy was exhausted and passed out on Pete and Sandy's bed. With all the excitement we neglected to get a picture of the two of us together. I will never forget the party, even with my absent friends and family from California, as my first and only engagement party.
